Funny Komiks Returns!

According to the cover, “Kids, here we are! The people’s comics returns to give happiness to everyone!”, indicating a return of this once popular title back into the mainstream. They decided not to renew numbering, but rather continue the old one. This issues comes in as issue #1405. The last time I saw Funny Komiks on the stands was at Los Baños around 2005. This particular issue I got from a sidewalk newspaper and magazine stand here in San Pablo City.

According to their editorial box, this new Funny Komiks comes out Mondays every two weeks, published by Infinito Publication, Inc., with offices at #70 18th Avenue, Murphy, Cubao, Quezon City. Ellen Cabajar-Kho is the Editor/Advertising in Charge, and Vic Pascua/Boogie Arichea are the Circulation in Charge.

Creators include writers Danny O. Ocampo (Itok) and Ellen Guhit (Jack Payantot), artists Rod Manuel (Itok) and Rex Espino (Jack Payantot), and writer-artists William Contreras (Superboy Bob), Jonel Mendoza (Frogie and Crabby Kid), Bladimer Usi (Dambiboy), Freely Abrigo (Kapitan Tog) and R-Man (Tag-Ulan Tips!)

    sana kapantay nito ang quality nung 80’s at hindi yung 90’s na puro manga at copies lang ng mga exisitng properties

    The original Funny Komiks was actually a komiks for the general audience (although it was essentially designed for children). I hope the editors of this new Funny Komiks will continue that tradition, and I hope it will not just be another kiddie komiks.

    Nice! I just got to buy a copy. :)
    Our youngest brother learned how to read from Funny Komiks, maybe it would do the same for his son.

    It really brings back childhood memories, along side watching all those super robots series on TV (by the way, Voltes V was aired again, now GMA7 have reruns of Daimos, woohoo!)

    Magiging masaya na naman ang mga bata nito sa paglabas ng bagong Funny komiks na ito at kahit na ang matatanda na nakatandaan na ito ay tiyak na babata ang mga puso. Welcome back to Funny komiks and congrats to all the people behind it.

    Interesting… the only local komiks I was able to read (not counting Sterling) was FUNNY KOMIKS. I remember being hospitalized around 1979 or 1980 and that I read all the FUNNY KOMIKS my ninang brought for me. I enjoyed them very much.

    ang editor nito ngayon ay isa sa dati ring editor ng funny kaya alam niya tiyak ang market niya.

    Since most of you are sharing their memories about this komiks, lemme share mine too!

    Regular na bumibili ang parents ko ng news papers. Nakita ko na lang na meron ding dala ung mamang nagdedeliver ng newspapers na mga komiks. Una kong napansin ang Funny Komks kasi sabi ng mama bagong labas daw yun. Kinulit ko nanay ko at napabili tuloy kami.

    Sayang! Unang labas pa naman. Sana na-save ko man lang yung copy ko that time. :(

    Nung bata pa kami, subscriber pa kami, may nagdedeliver ng funny komiks sa bahay-bahay :)

    grabe nung binalita ng barkada kong si mark na may Funny komiks na natuwa talga ako..may koleksyon ako sa bahay as in isang kahon, yung iba nasunog na at nginatngat ng daga. i remember pinakauna kong copy 1985, ang cover nya si Amphibia kasama tatay at nanay nya na centaur at sirena! natuto akong magbasa at the age of 5 dahil sa Funny Komiks. Surely bibili ako nya after this!

    AT LAST!!!! I hope that it will still contain a very informative and the traditional Filipino humor to which every kid (and adult)can relate with…yung nilalaman na pagkukuwentuhan ba..

    To all the adults who most of the time unleash their children behavior with no reason at all..MAY DAHILAN NA KAYO..este..TAYO pala!!!!!!!

    Kakikita ko lang nito ngayon sa SM. Di nga ako makapaniwala na nagbalik ulit ito e.

    Sana nga ay ibalik nito ang saya at tuwa sa mga mukha nang mga mambabasa nito. Sana din ay maibalik yung AX di kasi natapos e ><.

    ang pinakamalupet na komiks sa balat ng lupa!!! daming memories, sana ipagpatuloy nila ang magandang inumpisahan ng funny na na bukod sa maganda at nakakatawang mga kwento, may aral lagi
