Illustrated by Rene “R.B” Clemente

I heard about the passing of veteran komiks illustrator Rene Clemente through Arman T. Francisco’s blog, who read it from Randy Valiente’s report on his own site. Both sites are in Tagalog.

I have very little information on the life and works of Rene Clemente, who went by “R.B Clemente” in the credits of his comics stories. Even then, it’s always sad to hear of the passing of one of our veteran artists, our brothers in arms in comics.

I offer my sincere condolences to his friends and family.

Thanks to KC Cordero and thanks (in advance) to Jose Mari Lee.

My condolences. For many decades RB Clemente has been a regular illustrator of komiks love stories published in Atlas and GASI titles. His tandem with writer Georgina De Guzman in GASI’s Lovelife Komiks (as well as in other komiks) is perhaps still familiar to many. Also, used to be one of the more visible artists. What can I say? An artist’s demise can never be not untimely.

Gerry, yung architecture ng bahay parang mga bahay na nadadaanan dyan papunta sa inyo sa San Pablo. :D Very retro!

I’m not very familiar with the name but sad to hear another veteran comic artist passes away.
