This is a Wolverine commission I did that went unclaimed. The guy just disappeared on me, and maybe from the face of the earth. Maybe he didn’t like it? I don’t normally let go of artwork that I myself drew. The first time I did it was in 1999 or so, when a former publisher sold some pages on Ebay for me. This is the first one I’m selling on my own. It’s easy for me to let go because it’s something I never really did for myself. Although I like it, there are some things about it I would change, were I to do it over again.

I don’t get the chance to do commissions often because it takes so much time. I found some time to do this one early this year, and what are the chances that on the rare ocassion I do one, the buyer backs out? It’s actually kind of funny. Maybe that’s another reason why I’m selling it. It’s not meant to be mine.

I know the feeling. When somebody requests for a drawing, it’s easy for me to give it away, but if I did it for my enjoyment and someone asks for it, I almost always say “I’m sorry, but you can’t have it.” Unless he/she would settle for a copy, of course. :)
