They said I could talk about it so I will!

Earlier today at Druid’s Keep in Magallanes I met with a group of people organizing a two-day Manila Comic-Con on October 25-26 at Glorietta in Makati. Looks to me like a major event encompassing comics, toys, action figures and cosplay.

Talking with them, I wasn’t sure if they were aware of the Komikon in UP in November. However, those two events are different in atmosphere and emphasis, specially if what I hear about Komikon this year will come to pass.

In any case, I look forward to both events for different reasons. Elmer #4 will be out before those events so I think I’ll be doing my launching/signing at Comic-Con and do the same (and something else that’s different) for Komikon.

    with conventions like these happening left by right, who would say that the pinoy komiks industry is dying?

    i dare say its alive and well and is in the best shape right now. true, publishers and indie creators are having a challenge when it comes to distribution but i think conventions like this take local titles to a higher level never before achieved in the past.

    Comic Con with a C… so may posibilidad ba na meron din artists galing sa ibang bansa? hehe

  13. Nerp on July 1st, 2008 12:05 pm

    @ Gerry

    Sindak magzine was “banned” at the last ToyCon because the official coveror did not want something from the competition. That’s what my source told me.

    It’ just politics IMOHO!

    Wow! Padami ng padami ng events that features komiks. I was able to sell at M3 Con and TOYCON. Dapat pala mag-produce ng maramng kopya para sa taon na ito.

    @Ner
    Umabot na pala sa TOYCON ang TV Network Wars.

    Bawi na lang kayo sa H3 Con!
