Has anyone seen Incredible Hulk yet? Well, don’t tell me what happens because I haven’t seen it yet! I am looking forward to it though. I just hope that when I go to Manila they don’t show the damned movie on the bus! It can happen! I remember seeing them show Michael Bay’s Pearl Harbor just as the movie was being shown in the theaters. If that happens this time, I’ll tell them off, and then I’m getting off!
Everybody Marvel movie fan knows that almost all movies based on Marvel properties has a cameo of Stan Lee in it. How about Jack Kirby? Here’s a clip from the Incredible Hulk TV series that has a cameo by Jack!
I really miss watching that show. Is it out on DVD? Looking back, this version of the Hulk was far from his comic book origins, but I believe it was one of the more successful TV shows based on a comic book. In fact, I believe the approach and tone of the show even influenced some of the comic books themselves later on, and I believe the new movie itself pays quite a tribute to the TV series as well.
You truly felt the loneliness of “David” Bruce Banner in the storyline that they developed, and the memorable theme song really brought it home. I don’t think we ever missed watching it when it was on. I believe it was really popular here in the Philippines because it kind of appealed to the pa-”martyr” sentimentality of the Filipino.
Here’s the original TV show intro:
I think an updated Hulk TV show can still work today, based on the approach of the 70’s TV show. That kind of brooding, emo loner kind of guy, contrasted by pure unfettered rage of a monster can be appealing to today’s audiences.

Yes, the old gang is there, including the young and upcoming JACK McGEE ( journalist hounding banner in old TV show). I haven’t noticed Kirby though.
You should see the movie, Gerry. It was awesome, better than Ang Lee’s. I can say Ang Lee’s Hulk is good, but this one’s better…for me though. ;)
“… I’ll tell them off, and then I’m getting off!”
ooh! bastus!
Watche dit last night. Great movie ganda storya..andun ulit si Lou Ferigno. Bagay na bagay kay Edward Norton. Tim Roth is awesome!!!
Adam… sisiritan ko sila. :D
Watched it last week and, yes, Stan Lee’s there for the cameo and everyone in the cinema were snickering when his face appeared on the screen. Looks like peole have expected it and were just waiting when he’d show up.
I agree with Ed that this one’s better than the first one and Edward Norton really nailed it.
The final scene is something like the one in the Iron Man movie where Stark and Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) were talking about a team. Well, I don’t want to preempt you so go and watch it now.
Gerry,
Saw it on the very first day, first showing. Yes, Stan Lee had a cameo. Everybody in the movie house laugh when his face showed up. You can tell those were the comics fans who immediately recognized him. There’s also a surprise cameo at the very end of the film. Won’t tell you who, hehehe, just watch the movie.
Rod
I think they’re hinting that there will be Avengers movie. Man, that would be awesome!
Auggie, si Kirby yung sketch artist dun sa scene. :)
Ed, it’s no hint. There will be an AVENGERS movie tentatively in 2011 (after ANT-MAN, THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA).

Well, it was entertaining. Good, but not great. I still think the X-men trilogy was way better. Anyway, at least you don’t have to wait till the end of the credits to see the ’surprise’ guest star, unlike in Iron Man. Oh yeah, this is the longest screen time Stan Lee had in all of the Marvel movies. Snicker.
Better than Ang Lee’s… pero sana yung trouble regarding this movie won’t affect the casting of the Avengers… please please please
