HOT

It’s been so hot lately, it’s insane. That’s here in San Pablo. What more for you guys over there in Manila? The Komikero group ought to have gone to a swimming meet today, Lord knows we need it, but I didn’t feel like it considering I was too bothered thinking about my brother. He fell really ill a couple of days ago, no doubt the heat had something to do with it. He’s feeling much better today, thank goodness.
I mean, it was so hot today that for the first time in my life, I did something that I’ve never done before. I went out and used an umbrella even when it’s not raining. I’ve never done that. Umbrellas are for girls. Not for strong strapping heat resistant men like me. But I simply melted under this sun. There I was not a cloud in sight, hefting a gigantic umbrella. I gotta admit, it helped a lot. I will definitely start to do that more from now on. Lesson learned.
How do you guys cope with this heat? Aside from turning on the air-con that is.

Sorry to hear that Gerry, hope he gets well soon…
Thankfully it’s not humid in CA… but the dry heat.. boy… 90-100 degree Fahrenheit… so roughly…. 35-37 Celsius I think… gawd forbid this goes beyond 100… we had that last year… I almost used my apartment key on the car early in the morning… was so dizzy from the heat back then, I guess I was hallucinating and can’t see which was the right one……
Oh well… no AC for me either.. trying to be friendly to the planet… now the coffee shop blowing AC at full power is a different story…
I wonder how is it in Manila? I have yet to ask my parent about the weather every time I called… I guess it never bug them..
Ok deadlines ahead… Good to see you all good in macho-umbrella-shape Gerry.. we should chat more on email XD…
Take care,
Philip
It IS very hot. But we just try to stay indoors most of the time here in hot Metro Manila. Our AC is reserved for sleep time, and even then it’s timed to shut off after two hours.
But I prefer the humid heat here in Manila than the heat in LA. I was there one summer once, and the dry heat just feels like it’s gonna bore a hole on top of your skull.
I went out today, and most people are in malls drinking cold-ice drinks. Gosh it was so crowded in Megamall I hate it. But I enjoy it coz there are lots of girls in short shorts and mini’s. Hehehe! I love living near malls. >:)
It’s not very hot in my place. Believe it or not, my bedroom is quite cool than the living room. I don’t even use my AC coz I conserve energy (and money). I think the people living above me are using their AC which cools up their floors down my bedroom. Hmmmm. Cool eh? :P

Ang enet na talaga! I take a shower three times a day na ‘ata, that’s what I do, and drink lots of water.
Get well soon to your brother. :)
Glad to hear your dad is doing better.
The glands that monitors our body temperature is located under the tongue. So nothing beats body heat better than drinking ice cold water. And don’t eat too much, burning what you eat for the day adds up to body heat. Wear loose clothes.
Hot air moves up and cool air moves down. So have those electric fans facing up and out the window to flush out the hot air if you don’t have an aircon or exhaust fan.
Gerry,
Global warming is upon us and a reality. The average temperature around the world has risen 1.4 degrees F. Glaciers and polar ice are melting at a rapid rate. I hate to think what it would be like for future generations. The movie Waterworld by Kevin Costner might become a reality.

By not moving as much as possible. :D
Rain is probably getting a laugh out of this. He’s like a freakin’ reptile, enjoying the heat.
Pag nasa loob ng bahay, shirtless is the norm.
Halo-halo is the staple food for summer!
Pag sa labas, no more wearing black shirts.
P.S.: Buti na lang umulan ngayon.
Umuulan nga rin dito all day. Pero parang lalong uminit. May bagyo pala.
Sana.
If San Pablo is HOT, Paete could be SIZZLING. I don’t know, but something about our Sierra Mountain range augments heat from the lake, and the short rains that pour down here from time to time really adds to the humidity.
Anyway, I should warn you, I askedthe kids at the workshop to visit your site for more stuff about illustrations and komiks.
That’s throwing the heat your way he he he!
Thank you nga pala, your site really taught me cool things.
Where can I buy these comicbooks? I’m no big spender but every now and then, I go grab a comic book for myself at Fully Booked. For those made by Pinoys, all I got are the two Siglos, a dean alfar and a carlo vergara.
I’m hypokalimic and the heat aggravates it. Nothing beats working in an office with the AC full blast. Well… except maybe sleeping in a house with the AC full blast (one of these days…).
