Malang’s Chicken, UPLB Photos

Steve Santos sent along this terrific painting of a chicken by his father, Mauro Malang Santos. With work on Elmer #4 underway, I find this greatly inspiring. Thanks Steve!

I’m now convinced that Manix Abrera is not a model for any particular character in his comic strip Kiko Machine Komix, but rather, Manix is the embodiment of every character he creates. Rakenrol!!!

Looking to buy some vintage Komiks from the 1950′s and 60′s? Check out Cecil Hodreal’s auctions at Ebay. Cecil is actually the source of my many vintage komiks. I wanted to bid on these because they all look terrific (they don’t come from bound comics), but they’re simply out of my budget. If anyone out there wins these, maybe I could ask to scan them at least? So I can preserve at the least the covers and some interior pages digitally. Thanks!
