Jonas Diego, the Great Manix Abrera and Johnny “Balbona” Danganan and I held a series of talks at the University of the Philippines in Los Baños for Komikrazy, a symposium for Filipino Comic Books. The symposium is part of “Komik CallOut, a DEVC 180 Communication campaign for promoting readership of Filipino comic books.

It was a pretty good symposium with a lot of attendees with a lot of very interesting questions. I racked my brain a few times trying to come up with answers, but I’ve learned to like the feeling because it forces me to formalize my own opinions. I myself learned a lot from the talks, from Jonas’s views on new media, Manix’s very interesting and entertaining stories on creating comic strips, and hearing Johnny talking about Johnny Balbona (the character).

I was able to shoot on video substantial portions of each person’s talks, specially the one by Manix, and they will each be uploaded individually on You Tube soon.

    Hey, Auggie.

Mang Bernie we didn’t have time to see but the students say he’s still with DevCom. Si Sir Felix paminsan-minsan na lang daw pumunta sa College.

Sina Sandy, Madz, et al we didn’t encounter but then medyo late na rin natapos yung talk so baka hindi lang namin naabutan.
