Art Exhibit with DengCoy Miel and Dante Perez
Filed Under Filipino Artists, Philippine Comics | 1 Comment
It almost seems like a coincidence that after posting Dante Perez’s The Cursed on this blog, Filipino cartoonist DengCoy Miel (who once graciously sent over this awesome illustration for Elmer) informed me of an exhibit in March involving Dante Perez, himself and a few other artists.
The art exhibit will have it’s opening night on March 12, 2008 at the Finale Art Gallery in SM Megamall, Metro Manila.
I’m definitely going to attend as I’ve long wanted to meet the great DengCoy Miel, as well as of course, Dante Perez. Miel currently works as a political cartoonist at the Straits Times in Singapore, but he also contributes “McBayan” a daily comic strip for the Philippine Star.
Miel also informs me that Dante Perez worked at The New Paper, a sister publication of the Straits Times, as a cartoonist, graphics designer, and infographics journalist.
More information about this exhibit is forthcoming.
