***********
I wish I could be there for the entire event, but I have to head back to Manila also on February 22. But I’d love to meet people and discuss comics and it looks like I have plenty of time for that after my talk in the morning. I won’t be heading back to Manila until late afternoon anyway.
It’s cool that Benjie Marasigan from Benilde will be there as well. It’s been a while since I saw him.
I’m still thinking about what I’ll be talking about, but I’m sure I’ll have something prepared by tomorrow. I also sent photocopies and printouts of some artwork by the Philippine masters that everyone can see at the exhibit.

Gerry,
Bakit naging Ilonggo Comics ka na? Hahaha. I guess that’s the title of the series. However, there is or there was indeed, Ilonggo comics. Once upon a time I used to buy Hiligaynon, which is the equivalent publication for Liwayway, and everything in the Liwayway issue is there, except it’s translated to Ilonggo including the komiks section. I’m sure if Hiligaynon is still available somebody there might give you a copy. Auggie nga pala, Hiligaynon ba is still being published?
Good luck on your trip, Gerry. Ilonggo’s are the friendliest people in the world. It’s a nice one-hour jet flight to the International airport in Iloilo. In fact my first flight ever, was on a PAL to Iloilo, and I had the sweetest, prettiest flight stewerdess taking care of me when she learned it was my first flight. Unforgettable.
Rod
Rod,
Meron pang HILIGAYNON magazine, at may komiks section pa. Si Art Geroche , ang magaling na artist doon.
Bago nga pala ang International Airport dito. Wala na doon sa dating Mandurriao district na malapit sa mga salt beds. Nasa Sta. Barbara na, at talagang malaki, relatively new, last year lang binuksan.
Good luck and God bless. Happy trip.
