My adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Black Cat”, appearing in Graphic Classics 2008 Special Edition, will be part of Free Comic Book Day on May 3, 2008. Basically, this comic book, along with other selected comics, will be free on the first Saturday of May, in all participating comic book stores all over the world. You can get your copy, if you’re early enough, at Robinson’s Galleria branch of Comic Odyssey.
Store owner Sandy Sansolis promises to order a lot of copies of this Graphic Classic book, and I’ll be there to sign copies for everyone who will get it. Since Edgar Tadeo lives on one of the dark shady corners on the 3rd floor of Robinson’s Galleria, I’m sure he’ll be there too.
This is the first time I’ll be participating actively in FCBD, and I think all this is a great idea to promote not only comics but reading as well.
This the second full cover for a comic book I’ve done that’s published abroad, meaning a cover I both pencilled and inked. The first cover was for Ochlocrat #1 back in 2002. This time around, not only did I pencil and ink it, I also did the colors, which is really quite a thrill!
