Budjette Tan informed me about this comic book Wasted, created by Alan Grant and a host of other artists including Frank Quitely. Apparently, it’s an anthology, and it is open to submissions, even from outside the UK.
I’m sure Budjette was curious as to what I thought about it. For those of you who’ve yet to know, or have probably come to this blog post while searching for Alan Grant, Frank Quitely and their comic book Wasted, I did come up with a comic book called “Wasted”, which I did from 1994 to 1996, and reprinted several times afterwards. Click here for more info about my Wasted. Additionally, here’s a Wikipedia entry about it.
Now, compared to guys like Alan Grant and Frank Quitely, I’m practically a nobody and hardly anyone has heard of me or my comic book. I’m not being modest, I just know what my place is in the comic book world.
I’m not here to stake a claim. I’m just here to say what I think, and I think it’s not really that big a deal. Wasted is a common enough word, and to be quite honest, I’m quite surprised that nobody has made more comics with that title before and after I did it.
In fact, I think this is a good thing, because if people search for “Wasted Comics” or “Wasted Comic”, my comic book appears at #1 or #2 on Google. If it draws more people to check out my comic book the better!
The cover above is by Frank Quitely. It sort of looks like covers of Mango Jam, doesn’t it?
Allright. If you have been led to this page from Talking Pish and their post “Let’s Get Wasted”, then welcome! It’s working already! :D
