Having secured permission from Rudy Florese’s family, the online museum will soon begin serializing one of Rudy’s classic komiks stories, “Oras Mo Na!” serialized in Pioneer Komiks in 1984. The series will remain in tagalog, uploaded in 4-page installments weekly every Thursday, as it was originally published. Exact launch date to be announced shortly.

Wow! Great news! I was more familiar with Rudy Florese’s drama/romance work (admittedly, I used to swipe from him when I worked for PRECIOUS Komiks), so seeing an action piece of his serialized is a welcome treat. hihintayin ko ‘to!

When Rudy wrote his own stories, they were more action than anything else. Apparently, it’s the kind of thing that he really wanted to do, and couldn’t write romance stories even if he tried. The idea for a collection of his work on print is a really good one. I’ll see what I can do about it once ORAS MO NA finishes and see what kind of reaction it gets.

As of now, I have 4 complete stories that he wrote and drew, including SIMON SIBASIB, EXKIRMUZ, BOY ESCOMBRO and ORAS MO NA!

It seems that Exkirmuz is probably his most well known work, next to Oras Mo Na. Exkirmuz (a play on the word “Skirmish”), is a sort of homage to Mad Max: The Road Warrior. I’ve asked if they would be open to the idea of one day having me do a sequel to it, and they said yes. :D
