UNWANTED: The Komikero Artists Group Podcast #1: All By Myself

Due to some unfortunate technical difficulties, I’m all by myself in the premiere podcast of UNWANTED: Ang Podcast ng Komikero Artists Group. Johnny Danganan, Jonas Diego and I recorded the podcast a few days ago, but the recording turned out to be crap. Since we were recording separately through Skype, the audio was ridiculously uneven. Jonnny’s part was practically unusable. Jonas’s part was slightly better, but was rather unusable as well. Since we were all set to premiere today, but didn’t have time to record together, I decided to go to it on my own. I did, however, have a special guest in the form of Edgar Tadeo.

Ed talks about his current work, his side business, and the taggers on Facebook.

In this podcast I also review Carlo Vergara’s ZsaZsa Zaturnnah: Sa Kalakhang Maynila: Special Preview, as well as Andrew Villar’s Hari. I also talk about Free Comic Book Day, Metro Comic-Con as well as the hot flaming topic of the day: The National Artist Issue.

    Very nice Podcast, sir!

    Maganda po ang mga sini-share yung topic anything patungkol sa comics. Hindi man ako ganon ka-hardcore sa comics pero gusto ko rin makasagap ng kahit konting balita at impormasyon tungkol sa lagay ng comic industry natin. Thumbs up! Thank you po sa podcast. (^^)

    Itatanong ko sana kung pede kayong i-add sa Facebook pero after kong marinig yung comment nyo tungkol sa Facebook, baka hindi kayo naga-add sa Facebook ng di nyo kilala…

    Anyway, thanks talaga sa podcast nyo! (^^)

    Josh, nag a-add ako sa Facebook basta mukhang totoo naman ang pangalan, at may picture mo. Hindi ako naga-add pag obvious na fake ang pangalan, at walang photo. I don’t add groups, causes, characters, products, etc., as “friends”. That’s what groups and pages are for. I only add individuals with individual profiles.

    nice start!

    at least may ganito nang podcast about the local komiks industry. just started reading western comics 2 years ago and now i’m wanting to read and know more about filipino comics. salamat sa podcast. :)

    sir gerry, congrats sa eisner nomination. big fan here of your works. kahit yung mga inks mo. especially dun sa superman: birthright.

    despite the technical difficulties, the first podcast was a total blast! cool comic reviews and insights into the local comics scene, news and updates, special guests like sir ed (i immediately checked out the site! cool!) and opinions that matter. it’s like listening to an issue of a wizard magazine made for pinoy komiks! keep it up sir gerry, feel free to review weng weng or midknight anytime. hehehe. this is only a third of the trio, can’t wait for sir johnny and sir jonas to get on board! :D

    Hoping the covers of the reviewed komiks will be posted too. That may make it easier for the buyers to see the titles on the next con. Just a thought! :)
