It’s Suddenly Cold
Filed Under General, My Comics, Timawa | 20 Comments
Oh man, I’m not feeling too good right now. I’ve been feeling like this for a week now. Ilyn is already very sick with the flu and I’m trying very hard not to get sick myself. I can’t afford to right now. I still have to finish The Black Cat, I have to even start Timawa #4, and I have to go to school tomorrow. Can’t I get sick 2 Mondays from now? That would be convenient.
But things like this are never convenient. You have to make way for them no matter what. Perhaps it’s the weather. It got suddenly very cold yesterday. The sun was out but it wasn’t hot, and the mornings are freezing.
I normally like cooler weather. I’ve thought about living in Tagaytay more than once. Quite honestly, I love this weather we’re having now. But it’s sudden arrival put my body out of whack completely. I’m so not looking forward to waking up at 4 in the morning later. Maybe I’ll just wake up at 5. I need the sleep. I’ll sleep on the bus.

Yeah. Although I also have a fever…I hate it, buti na lang tapos na work ko.
Brrrr…

HEHEHEHEH…did it go down to 78degrees there? Brrrr…
I remember getting into a cab with Bella and her Cousin. The aircon was barely on, yet they were freezing!

Hey John,
How’s Daytona Beach ? are you experiencing cold spells there already ? what’s up for the holidays ?
Auggie-
We are having a little cold spell right now…around 59degress at night but by noon it’s back into the low 70′s! Feels nice!
Holidays are coming soon…no big plans, as Bella is getting ready to complete her Immigration during this time and we are getting excited about her being able to come over to the USA! When she is here then it will be the Holidays for us!
Thx-
-JBeatty
You guys STOP COMPLAINING NOW! It’s snowing here in the northwest, for crying out loud! Stop rubbing it on, okay?
It’s minus 5 right now, so you guys better start dancing outside the streets there in RP and Florida!
Pampered CRY BABIES!
What else can I do but head out to the skii slopes! If you can’t beat the snow, join it!
And I’m joining it!
Aw JM… you ought to know better than comparing griefs, you know what I’m saying? It’s like saying we shouldn’t feel cold just because you’re freezing. Well, the eskimos can say the same thing about you. And the Plutonians can say the same for the Eskimos. Kanya kanyang sitwasyon lang naman yan e. Kanya kanyang problema. If we started comparing our griefs, none of us should be complaining because somebody, somewhere has always got it worse than us.
E nilalamig ako e. Bakit ba?
Sorry… I seemed to have woken up on the serious side of the bed.
Gerry:
Actually, the lowest temperature measured in the north is in Calgary. Canada is much colder than Alaska, so they are dancing there right now but we’re freezing here:)
The trouble here is that up the northwest territory, the glaciers are blowing the damned freezing wind. I was in Calgaray one winter and the temperature went down -30!
With this kind of weather, so just can’t go out without thick gloves. Say, if you go grocery shopping with your bare hands, DIDIKIT ang kamay mo sa shopping cart at siguradong dadalhin ka sa emergency room para tanggalin ang kamay mo. He-he.
It can get that bad. And I am telling you this story to throw some positive vibes into your side of the basketball court. Mapapalad kayo diyan.
Amen.
Here in the midwest area, wearing jogging pants under denim jeans, plus t-shirt and sweater with winter coat on top plus a bonnet and gloves and two pairs of socks on top of one another I’m all set to walk in some abandoned streets. It’s not even snowing yet, not the one that can form into mounds anyway. It is totally dark by about 4:30 pm and you wont see any sunlight until about 8:00 am. Snows will be coming and it will be winter wonderland, picture perfect, if you are watching at it from the safety and warmth of your home. But it is as LONELY as it is COLD. You’d prefer the cold breeze of autumn to the pricky tropical heat yet in every autumn winter follows. The trees are bare, no signs nor sounds of life everywhere except for some dashing squirrels. Many dreams of having a “white Christmas”. But this I say: at least during Christmas time “whiteness” wont beat places like the Philippines where Christmas is celebrated and felt in many colors.
Gerry:
I should correct my facts. The lowest temperature ever recorded in North America is in Canada, but not in Calgary. It was in the YUKON TERRITORY -81°F in 1947. Kilig to the bones ito. He-he.
JM,
Noong Lunes, December 3, It was 19 Celsius in Metromanila and elsewhere, For the record…. ang average normal body temperature natin is 37 Celsius, di ba ?
Umuwi na tayo ng Pinas. Sarap ng 72 to 84 degrees F temperatures. I’m in Los Angeles, I still can’t get used to the cold at night even though it’s mildly cold, compared to the midwest & Canada.
Rod
Rod,
Bakit hindi nag co-conform ang US sa international standard of measures Farenheit, Miles, Acres, Pounds etc, samantalang Celsius, Kilometers, Hectares, Kilos etc na ang ginagamit ng mundo ?
Ito ang Pakwela: In Marikina, THEY SELL SHOES !
Auggie,
Oo nga, in fact I can’t understand Celcius (Sell Shoes? Hahaha) when my friends in Australia give me the temps there. You must mean why isn’t the rest of the world conforming with the U.S.?

Fermin:
The wind factor can indeed contribute to the coldness of the weather.
Auggie:
As in, pag mga 1-inch, ibig sabihin sobrang lamig. Pag mga 2.5-3 ay normal. :-P
