Today marks a new day in my life. It’s not my birthday, nor is it the new year. But in many ways this is a whole new year for me. I feel grateful that it was still within my choice, and that I was still able to make that choice, and that decision, to change my life. And it’s all for the better.
I apologize if I will be vague about it, but although it is of a personal nature, I can’t help but share a bit of renewed enthusiasm and joy about my life, and ultimately, my work. I have really great plans for the following year, plans of comics I would like to make and stories I would like to do.
The most immediate thing is a Graphic Classics deadline, with me adapting Edgar Allan Poe’s The Black Cat. That is one that I have to finish as in yesterday. Next is the debut of the 4-page Timawa installments for The Buzz Magasin.
And then it’s back to work on Elmer. I look forward to telling the rest of the story.
The drawing above is by Teddy Pavon, who, in the absence of a camera, decided to just draw the Komikon instead. Check out his blog here.

Good luck, Gerry! I hope all your plans come together as you continue your journey.
