Ilyn and I were in Makati yesterday, taking a break from work to watch 300 at the Rockwell Power Plant. I have a review of the movie here. We met with Jonas, who gave us tickets. Thanks man! I don’t think we would have the opportunity to watch it so soon otherwise.

We were hanging around Fully Booked looking at the 300 display. I went off to look for Ilyn and when I came back, Jonas was talking to Cesar Montano, one of our truly great Filipino actors. See him in The Great Raid.

Wow, he actually went up to Cesar and talked to him. I went to the side looking at things, trying not to notice what was going on, but Ilyn actually stood there and watched Jonas and Cesar talk. All of a sudden, Cesar talked to Ilyn, and then Jonas introduced me. Cesar is pretty good at these kinds of things. He grasps your hand tightly, and look at you directly. Wow, what a good looking man. I can’t believe I just said that. He looks better in person than he does on screen.

I’m pretty star struck in the presense of famous people. Earlier in the day I saw Eula Valdez. I almost shouted out loud… “Oh my God! ZSA ZSA!” Good thing I didn’t.

He’s running for Senator right? That might be why he’s friendly.

I’ve seen my uncle demonstrate this live — when you see a famous politician, just go approach him with a smile and greet him like you know him (of course, calling him by his highest rank achieved, even if he’s not in office anymore). 99 out of 100 times they will greet you back like they know you too and shake your hand. I think it’s what they automatically do out of fear they might offend someone they DO know but can’t remember.

Yeah, it was terrific. Hard to believe that most of that was shot in a studio… if not all of it.

Oh yeah. Cesar Montano is one good looking guy. We made a commercial with him once (for jollibee). He has this awesome presence about him. Nice guy, too.
