Yesterday morning I got a pleasant surprise when I received an email from Jonathan Ross, the guy who created the Steve Ditko documentary for the BBC. Apparently he’s a fan of Nestor Redondo, Alfredo Alcala, Alex Niño and other Filipinos who did work for DC in the 1970’s. I promptly pointed him to the Philippine Comics Art Museum Online.

October will be intensely busy. My most immediate deadline is the Timawa deadline for the Buzz. By the way, great things are in store for the strip in a couple of months when my pages are increased from 2 pages to 4! I couldn’t start with it right away because of the busy sked I have for October and November, but wow, 4 pages a month is great from a storytelling point of view.

I will also have a talk about comics at the Lopez Museum on October 13 from 2-4 pm. The Lopez Museum is located at the Benpres building, Exchange Road cor Meralco at Ortigas.

John Beatty will be back for a signing at Planet X at Tri-noma in Quezon City on October 27 at 1pm onwards. I will be there as well. I was hoping to have finished Elmer #3 by that time, but unfortunately, not yet. But by hook or by crook, Elmer #3 will come out on Komikon on November 17! Or I won’t BE at Komikon!

Deadline for my “Black Cat” for Graphic Classics, which I will proceed to do immediately after Timawa. And of course, there’s my classes at Benilde every Saturday.

Oh yeah… Ben Templesmith, artist of 30 Days of Night will also be in Manila for a variety of events from October 30-November 5. More info here.

I know Azrael is planning a comics event thing on October, but I’ve no idea what. Check out his blog if there are any details.
