Hello Gio… the term they’re using at Marvel and DC for that is royalty. Yes, this is an issue that ia addressed by Gilbert Monsanto in the video, while I talk about proper compensation for the artist.

I hope that they would discuss in the Komiks Congress the compensation of the artist. Aside for a better per page salary. They should consider giving a commission percentage. For example, lets say 5 to 8 percent of the gross sales of the title should be given to the Penciler and Inker. That would surely encourage the artist to give his best.
Is there such a thing(commission) in Marvel or DC?

Hello Hai. I asked, and as far as I’m told, there’s no definite plans on the publication of winning entries. That should have been a really great first issue of a new regular komiks series.

Come to think of it, I haven’t heard about what happened to the book that will be published containing the winners of the Graphic Fiction Awards.

“While competition is good, I would have thought that the money could be far better used to actually PUBLISH comic books. We will NOT build an industry on competitions.”

A much better prize would be PUBLICATION and FREE NATIONWIDE DISTRIBUTION of the winning entry.

Hello Raisia… I don’t think there will be any selling at the Congress. It’s mostly for comics writers, artists, publishers, editors meeting to find ways to revive the komiks industry. Hopefully, something really good results from it.
