Vibal Foundation sent over advance copies of the Francisco V. Coching’s EL INDIO collection and here I am looking at the end product of a project that began five years ago. I honestly can’t quite believe it.

I’m not sure yet when they will be available at the bookstores, and how much they will retail for, but it will have a launching at the National Museum.

I will make inquiries and I’ll post any further information about the book very soon!

Sorry Jerome… di kasi ako ang publisher nito so I don’t have any copies except yung personal copy ko. All major bookstores daw dito. If you have a friend in Manila, maybe you could ask them to buy it for you when it becomes available.

  16. Gerry Alanguilan on August 19th, 2009 8:44 pm

ha! ha! Nako Dex di ko pwede pirmahan yan.

  17. Gerry Alanguilan on August 19th, 2009 8:49 pm

Erwin, I wish I could talk about it in detail, but yes, there are other restorations going on with a different publisher. It doesn’t involve me except to advice the restorers on the process. I know that Alfredo’s son Christian is putting together the CRAF Voltar compilation. I think he may be translating it into English.

    Gerry,
Hurray!!! Bakit dalawa ang kopya mo? From the picture it looks bigger than it actually appeared in Pilipino Komiks. Sana naman, I like it bigger, mas kita ang mga detalya. Sana’y may hardback din, but of course paperback would be more affordable. How’s the printing, paper quality, overall quality? I hope hindi nagtipid sa imprenta. Can’t wait to get it. I already gave my brother money almost 2 years ago when you initially said it was coming out, but never did. Now finally. Thanks for posting, Gerry.

Rod, yes, it’s actually bigger than the original. The other copy is for Zara, who helped me work on it. :)

The printing is excellent. It’s printed on what looks like Matte paper. Definitely di sila nagtipid.
