Komiks.ph: Philippine Comics Portal

Antonio Garrovillo has brought me news of a new Philippine Comics Portal, http://komiks.ph. In his words, the site is built “…with the intention of making it a portal and promoter of news about all things related to local comics to the general online public.”

And I consider this a really good thing. Something like it was attempted earlier here, but updates were few. So I have great hopes for this site, and judging by the fact that they actually got a domain name for it, it means they’re really serious. I’ve been hoping for a Philippine repository of comic book news, events, and other happenings as comprehensive and as regularly updated as The Comics Reporter, The Forbidden Planet Blog (UK), and The Comics Journal’s Journalista Blog.

    Guys, parang wala yata sa web ngayon ang komiks.ph! Paano ko ba mako-contact ang mga dating contributors ng GASI at Atlas? Baka may idea naman kayo dyan!
