Several people have asked why I wasn’t at the recent Toycon. I really didn’t plan on coming this year. In fact, I didn’t attend other comics events recently like the one in Mall of Asia, and I most likely won’t go to the Sci-Fi con as well. I just decided to concentrate on just working, and preparing for comic books I will be releasing at this October’s Komikon.
I have A LOT of things going on for Komikon.
First and foremost of which is ELMER #3. This issue is a thick one so it’s why it’s taken (and will take) this long. Hopefully, I can put it out by September and will be promoting it at the Komikon.
Secondly, there’s the launching of the compilation of HUMANIS REX! I will be adding around 8 pages of art and a bit of editorial, sketches, etc. I’m completely re-lettering it with my new “Komikero 3″ font, as well as adjusting the coloring on certain pages.
Thirdly, there’s the launching of Francisco V. Coching’s EL INDIO compilation. This has been several years in the works, a project that has always been unfortunately pushed back due to more pressing work. But me and my assistant Zara have been working on it slowly when our time permits, and the work has gone on so well that I feel confident of an October release.
Fourthly, The Marvelous Adventures of the Amazing Dr. Rizal would be three months running by October and would be promoting it as well.
Fifth, there may be something going on with Mico and Jec-Jec. I can’t talk about it here yet, but I’m very excited about it.
Sixth, I don’t know how many people actually read my daily online comics. I’m sure of only maybe 10? (Thank you by the way.) Would a compilation of strips so far in greyscale be something anyone would be interested in? By October, I’d have been doing the daily strips for almost half a year.
