TIMAWA is ENDING

Timawa will come to a close on the pages of The Buzz Magasin with the June 2009 issue. Unfortunately, it is ending prematurely. The Buzz Magasin, in alignment with The Buzz TV, is to undergo a wide scale revamp. Timawa will not be part of it the new revamp.

I had planned on at the very least 10 installments more before this story finishes, and now I have to finish them in only TWO. I don’t think I will be able to jampack all that story in two installments, so the story I set out to do when I began this won’t be finished. However, I will use the last two installments to create an ending of sorts. It won’t be a full ending, but at least it would be a place to comfortably pause.

The May issue will have two pages, but the June issue will have FOUR pages. And boy, I’ll make sure TIMAWA goes out with a bang with those four pages. I don’t normally toot my horn, but you have to buy that last issue when it comes out because it’s going to totally freaking ROCK. I’m gonna make sure it will. I assure you, you will be kicking yourself if you don’t.

I want to thank KC Cordero, Athena Lucina Fregillana, Benjie Felipe and The Buzz Magasin for believing in Timawa enough to make it last nearly two years. To me, that’s remarkable. It’s been my pleasure and my honor to work on the comics for them, and I want to thank them for giving me a venue in which I could do whatever I wanted, and share it with the Filipino people here and abroad.

    any chance of having timawa seen in another format?
    hows about a graphic novel ala elmer?
    great work none the less. i’d hate to see timawa go by the wayside though. there’s not enough material like this around.

    marami ring salamat sa iyo mula sa amin sa the buzz magasin. masasabi ko na sa mga panahon na kasama namin ikaw at si timawa, iyon ang mga isyu na malalakas din ang aming benta. more power sa ‘yo at sa mga susunod mong proyekto.

    Yeah… any chance of reprinting the story… making a sort of director’s cut version telling the story the way you want to? That would be cool. =)
