Even though I said I’m taking on more work from abroad this 2009, it looks like I won’t be abandoning the local comics scene completely as there are a few local comics I will be working on this year.

Of course, there’s still TIMAWA that’s published monthly on the pages of The Buzz Magasin. Then there’s The Marvelous Adventures of the Amazing Doctor Rizal, my next personal project after ELMER. This one should be out by the 2nd Komikon in October.

The third one is still super secret at this point. If I say anything I’m sure they’ll do really bad things to me. But I feel good about this one. It’s a well paying local comics job with a big publisher. If I can earn that much on a regular basis I can just do that all the time and never have to work on comics abroad. So I really hope this one does well if and when it comes out. Fingers crossed! In any case, it makes me glad that there are still quite a number of people here in the Philippines willing to invest that much in Philippine comics.

Oh yeah, before I forget, I’m taking a stab once again at regular online comics. I know I’ve been on and off about this kind of thing. But because I love punishment, here I go trying to see if I can pull it off this time. Let’s see!
