Komikero meeting day! The sun is out and the weather is great! For a moment there I was worried because it had been raining a day or so ago. The rains were good in the end because the weather is cool once again. A lot of new guys will be coming over which should be interesting. I’m getting tired of seeing just Johnny and Jonas all the time.
I am struggling with a cold right about now which doesn’t seem to be so bad that I can’t go out. What actually makes me feel bad right now is that Alex Niño made an appearance in Manila for an exhibit, signing stuff, sketching, meeting fans… and I wasn’t even aware of it. I didn’t read it from the places I go to online, and any message letting me know if this never reached me. My friends probably weren’t aware themselves, or didn’t tell me because they assumed I knew. If I knew it I would have talked about it here, inviting people to come. In any case, I’m sure I’ll meet Alex one of these days.
January 31 deadline on Last Hope, and February 4 deadline on Timawa 16. A few people have invited me for talks that fall within those deadlines which I’ve had to decline. Which is too bad because they sound like some pretty good events. Apparently, there’s this comics-themed thing going on at UP Diliman on February 4. One event, two groups, and both invited me and some other guys to talk. Which could get difficult for them because I don’t know if these two groups know that they invited the same people.
However, I will be able to go to a talk on February 10 at the Philippine High School for the Arts in Los Baños. I’ll be there with Manix Abrera, Jonas Diego and Johnny Danganan. Well past any pending deadlines so it would be all right. I just hope I no longer have this cold by then.
All right, I’ll go get ready for today. Bracing myself for it.

Hi Gerry
An artist friend of my mother in law told me when I was there in the Philippines for a month vacation that Alex Nino moved back to the Philippines for good. Is this true??
Alex Niño in town?! How come no one talked about this? Dito ko lang nalaman to.
When Tony DeZuniga was in Comic Odyssey, I remember telling somebody that “Si Alex Niño na lang, kapag na-meet ko siya, solved na ako”. Then I read this…
sayang (hikbi)
If you don’t mind me asking sino po yung magpa-publish ng Last hope?
heto video nya doing a sketch

Hey Martin! I can’t say who the publisher is yet… :D
Adrian… I know how you feel. Big big fan ako ni Mang Alex. Siguro di lang talaga na publicize masyado. But I’m sure ma me-meet rin natin sya. :D
I heard something like that Jerome. I can’t confirm for sure though.
Thanks for linking the vid Azrael, that was great. Sir Gerry, sayang po di kayo nakapunta. I feel your disappointment. You would have posted a nice journal entry about that event. Sana po sa susunod, makaattend kayo, and please be sure to write about it. xD
