Right off the bat there’s a signing tomorrow, January 3, by writer J Torres at the Robinson’s Galleria branch of Comic Odyssey at 2pm. J Torres (from his blog) is the writer of Family Dynamic, Legion of Super Heroes in the 31st Century, and Wonder Girl for DC Comics.

Other works include the Eisner Award nominated Alison Dare, the ALA listed Days Like This, the Harvey nominated Sidekicks and the Shuster Award winning Love as a Foreign Language and Teen Titans Go.

His upcoming projects include Lola: A Ghost Story and Dead Goombas for Oni Press as well as new Degrassi: The Next Generation webisodes for Epitome Pictures.

Signing with J Torres is Elbert Or, artist on Lola: A Ghost Story who will be on hand to preview pages from the comic book, as well as debut copies of Without Further Adieu and More Pinoy Words of Wisdumb, a follow-up to last year’s popular The More The Manyer. Elbert (from his blog) is a comic book creator, freelance writer, illustrator, and graphic designer, among other things.

Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze MusiKal returns for it’s SIXTH run at the Little Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines on February 2009. It will run for 15 shows. I still contend that the Zsa Zsa Musical remains as one of the most artistically successful adaptations of a Filipino comic book into another medium, be it TV, Film or Stage.

I’ll be writing more at length about this musical sometime soon, just to explain that last sentence. There’s a lot more to say.

Jonas! Johnny! Date tayo ha? Sabay sabay tayo manood! Lalo ka na, Johnny!
